Goodwill Ambassadors Terms of Service
Terms of Service for the Goodwill Ambassador News
These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of Goodwill Ambassador News, the public-information and publishing website of the Goodwill Ambassador Association. They explain how readers may use the website, how submissions are handled, how subscriptions and Google services operate, and how these Terms work together with our Privacy Policy and publishing standards.
Goodwill Ambassador News is designed to be read by people in the United States, Europe, and worldwide. We do not sell reader information, we do not share reader information with data brokers, and we do not operate advertising profiles for resale. Our intended cookie and script footprint is narrow: Google and Blogger services used for site operation, readership measurement, security, consent where applicable, and subscriber tools such as Subscribe with Google. Readers who contact us, submit documents, request corrections, or subscribe should understand what information they provide and how it is used.
Public Terms for Readers, Subscribers, Contributors, Sources, and Website Visitors
These Terms are public-facing consumer information, not legal advice. They should be read together with the Privacy Policy, the Publishing Principles, Policies, and Standards, and the Contact page.
Table of Contents
This table follows the theme’s visual Table of Contents method and links the major sections of these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using this site, you agree
By accessing, browsing, reading, subscribing to, or using Goodwill Ambassador News, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the website. If you use the website on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to do so.
These Terms apply to readers, subscribers, contributors, sources, public officials, researchers, and anyone interacting with site features, embedded content, subscription tools, contact pathways, or published materials.
2. Who We Are
Publisher and publication identity
Goodwill Ambassador Association is the publisher organization. Goodwill Ambassador News is the publication website at https://www.goodwillambassador.org/. References to “we,” “us,” or “our” mean the Association, publication, editorial desk, or website operators, as context requires.
The website documents Goodwill Ambassadors, United Nations ambassador programs, civic honors, official designations, honorary consular subjects, public diplomacy, soft power, and related public-interest information.
3. Privacy, No Sale, and No Data-Broker Sharing
Plain-language privacy commitment
- We do not sell reader information.
- We do not share reader information with data brokers.
- We do not rent, trade, or transfer subscriber lists for commercial resale.
- We do not use reader contact information for unrelated third-party marketing.
If you contact us, subscribe, submit documents, request a correction, or participate in a credential or profile review, we may use the information you provide to respond, verify, document, publish, correct, manage subscriptions, or maintain records connected with that request. We do not treat that information as a product to sell.
Limited service-provider processing
The site operates on Google/Blogger infrastructure and may use Google services for analytics, subscription access, consent, security, and site functionality. Those services may place cookies or use browser storage according to Google’s own policies and the settings available to readers. See our Privacy Policy for the longer explanation.
4. Purpose of the Publication
Public-interest publishing and documentation
Goodwill Ambassador News publishes public-interest information, reference pages, explainers, news reports, directory materials, controlled vocabulary, standards pages, historical notes, and commentary related to goodwill ambassadorship, civic honors, official titles, public diplomacy, honorary consular subjects, and international public service.
The site is designed to support reader trust through clear definitions, visible corrections, stable links, documentary sourcing, and transparent editorial standards.
5. Journalistic Purpose and Editorial Rights
Editorial independence
Goodwill Ambassador News is an editorial and documentation publication. We reserve lawful editorial judgment over what we investigate, publish, update, correct, label, archive, or decline to publish.
Nothing in these Terms waives lawful rights connected with news gathering, reporting, quotation, criticism, commentary, public-interest documentation, historical analysis, fair comment, or correction of the record.
No professional relationship
Website use does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, diplomatic, consular, employment, agency, or professional advisory relationship. Content is published for informational, educational, documentary, and editorial purposes unless a page expressly says otherwise.
6. Content Ownership and Licensing
Original content
Unless a page states otherwise, original text, editorial structure, page layout, compilations, original graphics, and documentation systems are protected by applicable law. You may read, link to, download, and print pages for personal, educational, research, or noncommercial reference use.
Responsible citation is encouraged. Link to the page you relied on, identify the title and date, and quote only what is necessary. Substantial republication, commercial reuse, scraping that burdens the site, or misleading use of our identity requires permission unless a separate license applies.
Names, marks, and public identity
The names Goodwill Ambassador Association and Goodwill Ambassador News, and related visual identity materials, may function as source identifiers. Do not use them in a way likely to confuse readers about endorsement, affiliation, authorization, or origin. This does not restrict nominative use, criticism, commentary, or reporting.
7. Public Domain, Quotations, and Attribution
Public-domain and licensed materials
Some materials may be public domain, Creative Commons, government-produced, quoted, embedded, or used under license. We aim to attribute such materials and provide context so readers can verify source and rights status.
If you believe a work is incorrectly attributed, improperly licensed, or used outside the applicable rights, contact us with the URL, work description, rights claim, and supporting documentation.
8. User Submissions, Tips, and Correspondence
What you grant us when you send material
If you send tips, messages, corrections, documents, identity evidence, appointment records, photographs, or other materials, you grant us permission to review, store, verify, summarize, cite, archive, and use them for editorial, documentation, correction, credential-review, or publication purposes consistent with the reason you sent them.
You represent that you have the right to send the material and that doing so does not violate a lawful obligation you owe to another person or institution. We do not guarantee publication of any submission.
Confidential or sensitive material
If confidentiality is required, say so clearly before sending sensitive material. Do not send highly sensitive personal, legal, medical, financial, immigration, diplomatic, or security information through ordinary channels unless you accept the risk of that transmission method.
9. Newsletter, Subscriptions, and Reader Support
Subscriptions and updates
If you subscribe to updates, newsletters, or reader services, you agree to receive communications connected with the publication. You may unsubscribe or adjust available preferences through the tools provided or by contacting us.
Subscribe with Google
The site may use Google publisher tools including Subscribe with Google or related reader-revenue and access services. These tools may use a Google Account, Google payment methods, cookies, or browser storage to keep a reader signed in, manage access, or process subscription choices.
Voluntary support
Contributions or donations, where offered, support publication, research, directory maintenance, standards work, technology, and public-information activities. Unless a page states otherwise, voluntary support is not a purchase of official title, office, government recognition, UN status, or diplomatic status.
10. Analytics, Cookies, Google Services, and Embeds
Our intended cookie footprint
Our intended third-party cookie and script footprint is limited to Google/Blogger services needed for site operation, analytics, security, consent where required, embedded Google content, and subscription or reader-access features. We do not intentionally operate advertising-network cookies for independent resale of reader data.
Google Analytics and measurement
Google Analytics or similar Google measurement tools may help us understand readership, pages viewed, referrers, approximate locations, device/browser information, and performance issues. We use analytics to improve publication quality and site operation, not to sell personal information.
Third-party links and embeds
The site may link to official sources, public records, government pages, United Nations pages, Google Workspace documents, maps, videos, or embedded materials. When you interact with those services, their own terms and privacy policies may apply.
11. EU/UK/EEA and United States Reader Notice
Readers in Europe
Readers in the EU, EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and similar jurisdictions may have privacy, consent, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability rights under applicable law. The Privacy Policy is the primary place where those data-processing rights are explained for this website.
Readers in the United States
United States privacy rules vary by state. Where a state privacy law gives a reader rights to know, access, delete, correct, limit, or opt out of sale or sharing of personal information, we will respond consistently with applicable law and our public promise that we do not sell reader information.
Mandatory consumer law controls
If any part of these Terms conflicts with mandatory consumer, privacy, or data-protection law that applies to you, the mandatory law controls to the extent required.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
General disclaimer
The site is provided for informational, educational, documentation, and editorial purposes. We strive for accuracy, but we do not warrant that every page will be error-free, uninterrupted, complete, current, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from use of the site, reliance on content, inability to access the site, third-party links, embeds, service interruptions, or user submissions.
13. Indemnity
If your conduct causes harm
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the publisher, editorial operators, contributors, and technical operators from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from unlawful use of the site, unlawful submissions, rights violations, or violation of these Terms.
14. Termination, Suspension, and Access Controls
Protecting the record
We may suspend, limit, block, moderate, refuse, remove, archive, or decline content, submissions, access, or site features when necessary to protect readers, sources, contributors, site security, legal rights, publishing integrity, or the public record.
15. Governing Law and Venue
Kentucky governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer or privacy law requires otherwise. Any dispute arising from the site or these Terms shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Kentucky, unless mandatory law provides a different forum.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in site functionality, publication standards, Google/Blogger services, subscriptions, privacy expectations, or legal requirements. When we update them, we will revise the effective date or date edited on this page.
17. Contact Information
Contact pathways
